Pega log analysis tools

Pega Cloud® offers a comprehensive suite of options for accessing and managing log files. These tools help you monitor and troubleshoot applications and provide flexibility and efficiency so that you can choose the best method for your enterprise requirements.

Amazon S3 bucket

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is a secure and scalable cloud storage container from Amazon Web Services (AWS). It stores any type of data, such as documents, images, logs, or backups, and provides high availability and performance.

You can configure Pega Cloud to stream log files to an AWS S3 bucket in your enterprise account. This configuration provides direct access to log files.

After setup, Pega Cloud® streams logs continuously to your S3 bucket as time-delimited file objects. Each object consists of a file and optional metadata.

For more information, see the Streaming Pega logs to an external Amazon S3 bucket.

Splunk

Splunk is a data analytics and log management tool that transforms raw machine data into actionable insights. Organizations use Splunk to support on-premises and cloud deployments in IT operations, cybersecurity, DevOps, and business analytics.

You can configure Pega Cloud to stream Pega Platform™ log files to a Splunk service. This integration provides continuous access to log data and supports dynamic log management without requiring manual downloads. Splunk helps analyze log data by identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies.

For more information, see Streaming Pega logs to Splunk.

Google Cloud Platform Project

A Google Cloud Platform (GCP) project is a logical container that organizes cloud resources such as virtual machines, databases, APIs, and storage buckets.

Configure Pega Cloud to stream application logs in real time to a client-managed GCP project. If you run Pega Cloud on GCP, use the Google Cloud Log Explorer tool to query and analyze logs, create dashboards, and set up alerts

For more information, see Streaming Pega logs to an external Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Project.

External log viewer

An external log viewer is a software tool that opens, reads, and analyzes log files generated by applications, systems, or devices.

Use an external log viewer such as Kibana to visualize log files and monitor potential issues. To enable this functionality, install the external log viewer and configure the URL on the Resource URLs tab on the System Settings landing page

For more information, see Viewing log files in an external log viewer.
