Acme Technologies wants to track the progress of sales opportunities to enhance sales performance, accurately forecast revenue, and optimize the sales process.
As a sales operator, your task is to streamline this process by creating visual insights. First, generate an Opportunity by Stage insight using a Bar chart to visualize the distribution of opportunities across different stages. Then, create an Opportunity by Stage insight using a Pie chart, making use of Pega GenAI™ to quickly produce visually appealing data that's ready for analysis. Once both insights are created, add them to a new dashboard named Pipeline Dashboard.
The following table provides the credentials you need to complete the challenge:

Your assignment consists of the following tasks:
Task 1: Create an Opportunity by stage Insight using a Bar chart
In the Explore Data section, create an Opportunity by stage Insight by using the Bar chart type.
Task 2: Generate an Opportunity by stage Insight using a Pie chart with Pega GenAI
In the Explore Data section, create an Opportunity by stage Insight by using the Generate with AI feature.
Task 3: Create a Pipeline Dashboard and add the Opportunity by stage in Bar and Pie chart Insights
In the Dashboards section, create the Pipeline Dashboard and add your Opportunity by stage in Bar and Pie chart Insights to it.
Task 4: Confirm your work
Test the scenario by logging in as a Sales Representative. Go to the Dashboards section, and then verify that the Opportunity by stage in Bar and Pie chart insights are displayed on the Pipeline Dashboard.

1 Create an Opportunity by stage Insight using a Bar chart
- In the Pega instance for the challenge, click Launch Pega Infinity to log in to the Sales Automation application:
- In the User name field, enter SFASampleSalesOps.
- In the Password field, enter rules.
- In the navigation pane of Sales Automation, click Explore Data.
- In the upper-right corner, click Explore Data and then select Base Opportunity.
- In the Display as list, select the Chart >Bar chart type.
- In the Fields section, drag and drop the Opportunity Stage data field from the Available fields area to the Dimensions section.
- Click More fields, and then drag and drop the Owner User ID data field from the Available fields area to the Promoted filters section.
- In the upper-right corner, click Save as Insight.
- In the Save as Insight dialog box, complete the following details:
- In the Name field, enter a name for the insight.
For example, Opportunity by stage in bar chart. - In the Visibility list, specify who can view the insight.
For example, Shared – Users with access. - In the Shared list, select All.
- In the Description field, enter a description for the insight.
For example, Opportunity by Stage in bar chart provides a visual representation of sales opportunities categorized by their current stage in the sales pipeline. - Select the Show title checkbox.
- In the Insight title field, enter Opportunity by stage in bar chart.
- Click Submit.
- In the Name field, enter a name for the insight.
2 Generate an Opportunity by stage Insight using a Pie chart with Pega GenAI
- In the navigation pane of your application, click Explore Data.
- In the upper-right corner of the application, click Explore Data > Base Opportunity.
- In the Chat with your data text area, enter Show opportunities by stage in pie chart, and then click Generate with AI.
- In the Filters section, click the Edit icon to limit your insight to records that meet specific criteria, then complete the following details:
- In the Field list, select Close date.
- In the Conditional operator list, choose between.
- In the Value fields calendar, select the range from 1st January 2021 to 31st August 2025.
- Click Submit.
- Save the insight by clicking the Save as insight button.
- In the Name field, enter a name for the insight.
For example, Opportunity by stage in pie chart. - In the Visibility list, specify who can view the insight.
For example, Shared – Users with access. - In the Shared list, select All.
- In the Description field, enter a description for the insight.

3 Create a Pipeline Dashboard and add the Opportunity by stage in Bar and Pie chart Insights
- Navigate to the Dashboards section.
- On the Dashboards landing page, click Create Dashboard.
- In the Dashboard pane on the right, click Edit.
- Select the Two column template, and then click Submit.
- Set the Visibility as Shared – Users with access.
- Under Region A, click +Add to add a widget to the slot.
- Filter the Insight with the name Opportunity by stage in bar chart, and then select it and click Add to add it to the dashboard.
- Under Region B, click +Add to add a widget to the slot.
- Filter the Insight with the name Opportunity by stage in pie chart, and then select it and click Add to add it to the dashboard.
- Click Save dashboard.
- In the Name field, enter Pipeline Dashboard.
- In the Description field, enter a brief description. For example, Dashboard to track sales opportunities.
- Click Submit to create the dashboard.
- In the upper-right corner, click Account > Log off.
