Accounting
Pega Smart Investigate Agentic Automation™ (SIAA) supports two integration models for accounting: indirect integration through standard payment instructions and direct ledger connectivity through APIs. Each model offers benefits based on your financial infrastructure. Evaluate your institution's architecture to select the integration strategy that provides the right balance of control, reusability, and operational efficiency.
Financial ecosystem integration
SIAA integrates with a bank's accounting environment in one of two ways:
- Indirect integration
The system generates standard payment instructions (pain.001, pacs.008) and sends them to the bank’s payment processing system. The payment system runs the transaction and posts the accounting entries to the general ledger. This setup is common when the application operates upstream of existing payment infrastructure. - Direct ledger connectivity
The system connects to the general ledger through APIs. This approach enables you to:- Post accounting entries directly to the general ledger.
- Validate balances or retrieve real-time account information.
- Support use cases that do not rely on a downstream payment engine.
Configure the application to use the model that fits your internal ecosystem. Choose indirect accounting through payment messages or direct ledger interaction for greater control and real-time visibility.
Update your back-end integration to comply with the default API connector. This connector replaces previous custom ledger APIs and aligns with the approach used in Smart Dispute Agentic Automation, which supports reuse and compatibility.
