Package deployment
The robotic developer prepares and sends deployment packages from Pega Robot Studio to Pega Robot Manager, where the administrator can manage them to ensure the correct assignment of package versions to the robot pool.
Project deployment
When the automation developer deploys the project, Pega Robot Studio assigns it with the deployment version that aids with package management. The developer should also include the essential information about the package version in the Deployment Comment section. The deployment comment should describe the changes in the project version and any details that support correct version handling in Pega Robot Manager, like the description of fixed automation issues.
The following figure shows the Project Deployment dialog box of Pega Robot Studio:
For more information about the package deployment, see Deploying automation packages.
After the first deployment, the deployment comment becomes the description of the package. Administrators can view and modify the package name and description through Pega Robot Manager by accessing the package details page and then updating the information though the Edit package action. The name and description are displayed as the header of the package details page, as shown in the following figure:
Signing and encryption of packages
You can protect the data of deployed packages by enabling signing and encryption. By adding code signing to package data, you add a digital signature to ensure that the package has no changes following the deployment by the developer. By adding encryption, you prevent unauthorized access to package data transferred across servers. For more information about signing and encryption, see Enabling or disabling signing and encryption of packages.
Monitoring settings for deployed package
The Available versions dialog box displays the properties and details of each package deployed to Pega Robot Manager. The list of available provides you with the deployment comments and the encryption and signing status of each version of the package, as shown in the following figure:
