Pega Email Bot configuration
This topic describes how you configure an email account and create an Email Channel in Pega Email Bot™, so that your application can receive and process incoming emails to create and update cases automatically. You also see how Email Bot integrates the email account with an Email Channel to connect your application to an incoming mail server.
Walkthrough
Many organizations rely on email as a primary channel for customer communication. To enable your application to read incoming emails and send automated responses, you must configure an email account and connect it to an Email Channel by using Pega Email Bot.
To begin, log in to Infinity Studio as an administrator. In the navigation pane, click App, and then select Records.
Expand the Integration-Resources category, and then click Email Account.
On the Email accounts tab, click Create.
On the Create Email Account form, enter a short description and name that identifies the email account, and then click Create and open.
In the Account provider section, in the Email provider list select the appropriate provider.
Next, configure the outgoing email settings. In the Send using list, select the email protocol.
In the Identity subsection, enter the Email address, Display name, User ID, and Authentication Profile for the outgoing account.
In the Connection subsection, enter the SMTP host and Port.
Next, configure the incoming email settings. In the Receive using list, select the protocol.
In the Identity subsection, select the User ID and Authentication Profile.
In the Connection subsection, enter the Host and Port for the incoming mail server.
Click Save to save the email account configuration.
You have now created an email account.
Next, create an Email Channel to integrate this account with your application.
In the navigation pane, click Channels, and then click the Channels Landing Page icon.
In the Create new Channel section, click Email.
In the Details section, in the Email Channel name field, enter a descriptive name for your Email Channel. Optionally, enter a short description in the Description field to explain the purpose of the email bot.
In the Email handling section, click Add email account, and then, in the list, select the email account that you configured.
Click Verify to confirm that the selected account is correctly integrated with the channel.
In the Additional settings section, select the reference operator for the email bot, one or more languages in which the email bot interacts with users, and a template for the system to use for outbound emails.
Click Save.
You have now configured Pega Email Bot by adding an email account and creating an Email Channel.
