Pega log analysis tools
Pega Cloud® offers a comprehensive suite of options for accessing and managing log files, which are crucial for monitoring and troubleshooting applications. These options provide flexibility and efficiency, which help ensure that you can select the best method to suit the needs of your enterprise.
Amazon S3 bucket
You can set up Pega Cloud to stream log files to an Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 bucket in your enterprise AWS account. This setup provides immediate access to log files without third-party integration.
After configuration, the logs continuously stream to your S3 bucket, creating time-delimited file objects. Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is an object storage service known for its scalability, data availability, security, and performance. Amazon S3 stores data as objects within buckets, where an object consists of a file and, optionally, any metadata that describes that file. For more information, see the Streaming Pega logs to an external Amazon S3 bucket.
Splunk
Pega Cloud provides an add-on Pega Platform™ log streaming by integrating with Splunk service to provide continuous access to the logs. Splunk is a tool that helps analyze logs by identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies in log data. The log streaming service enables you to efficiently manage Pega Platform logs dynamically without having to download them manually. For more information, see Streaming Pega logs to Splunk.
Google Cloud Platform Project
Pega Cloud enables real-time streaming of application logs to a client-managed Google Cloud Platform Project. Users who run Pega Cloud on GCP can use the Google Cloud Log Explorer tool to query, analyze, create dashboards, and set up alerts. For more information, see Streaming Pega logs to an external Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Project.
External log viewer
Using an external log viewer like Kibana, you can view and visualize log files to monitor potential issues. To use this tool, install the external log viewer and configure the URL in the Resource URLs tab on the System Settings landing page. For more information, see Viewing log files in an external log viewer.
