Pega Process Mining uses the data from closed Cases to generate a prediction model that suggests when open Cases will close. View these predictions to address workflow issues as they are occurring.

Predictive analysis is available on the Analyses navigation pane if one or more activities were selected to be end states when the View was created. All Cases that already reached an end state are considered closed Cases. The system can use these closed Cases to generate the prediction model.

Accessing Predictive analysis

In a View, in the header of the application, click the Analyses icon, and select Predictive > Case Duration:

Benefits of predictive analysis

Predictive analysis is beneficial when Pega Process Mining pulls data from the source on a regular schedule. If the data in Pega Process Mining is always up to date, then you can take actions in real time.

For example, if you know when open Cases are expected to end, you can track Cases that are on schedule or behind schedule and address deviations. For each Case in the Open Cases list, you can use the Expected End Timestamp in the following ways:
  • If the Expected End Timestamp is in the future, you can prepare for the next steps in the Case and determine if that Case is tracking to finish on time or to be late.
  • If the Expected End Timestamp is in the past, then the Case is behind schedule and you might take action to expedite the Case, given this knowledge and convenient access to additional details about the Case.

Accessing analysis tools for open Cases

To further analyze how a Case is tracking or to expedite a Case that is behind, in the Open Cases list, right-click the Case. A menu provides access to the following options:

Open Case overview
Opens the detailed Case overview dialog box that you can use to view the timeline of the Case, resources assigned to different events in the Case, columns associated with the Case, and many additional metrics related to the Case.
Filter this Case
Filters the View by this Case and updates the Open Cases list to only show this Case. This option is useful if you want to focus additional analysis pages, such as the Dashboard on this Case. You might also select this option if you want to capture an Insight that is specific to this Case.
Filter all except this Case
Filters the View by all Cases except this Case and removes this Case from the Open Cases list.
Filter and go to graph
Filters the View by this Case and displays the Process Map.
