Certification overview

The Lead Decisioning Architect (LDA) Certification program will identify potential partners and client candidates with exceptional Decisioning Architect capabilities and certify them. The certification process would be simple yet rigorous and would rely on a robust set of pre-requisites and a panel interview.

Certification prerequisites

In order to be eligible for the Lead Decisioning Architect certification, there are certain parameters that you must meet. This includes obtaining mandatory certifications and completing certain Pega Academy missions.

Exam format

Candidates are expected to self-study for the certification based on a detailed syllabus and enablement path in Pega Academy. The certification exam proceeds in 2 phases.

Phase I
Candidate Interviewing

Phase I involves a 30-minute conversation about the candidate's background and experience with a Pega LDA/PDA.

  • Discuss your background and CDH experience with Pega’s Panel of Expert.
  • Present an overview/abstract of the use case that you plan to present in Phase II.
  • Leverage this opportunity to showcase the breadth and depth of your knowledge and experience.
Phase II
Candidate Interviewing

Candidates that clear phase I, undertake a rigorous 75-minute panel interview with 3 Pega professionals (at least 2 LDAs/PDAs) where they present a use case and demonstrate their technical knowledge and business acumen related to Pega CDH.

  • Demo the use case that you have built in the Pega CDH sandbox environment that was provided, engaging in a discussion with the panel.
  • Highlight key CDH concepts from the syllabus that are part of your use case.
  • Explain how and where you have used best practices to make your design robust.
  • Panel of 3 (with at least 2 LDA/PDA Peers) and an observer(optional).
  • Answer questions to demonstrate your superior knowledge of CDH along the following dimensions: technical, business, and consultative

A three-member panel will interview about Candidates background and experience, review use case, and ask specific questions to understand the breadth and depth of candidates’ skills.

Certification preparation

Preparing key concepts outlined in the syllabus along with building a robust understanding of the technical and business fundamentals of CDH will be crucial for success in the certification exam.

  • • Use the demo and the panel discussion to express who you are as a person and Pega professional, and explain your leadership style.

  • • Use examples to showcase your technical expertise in Pega CDH while you demo your use case. Use best practices to design your solution, leverage the data model/sample data, and walk the panel through your choices and reasoning when designing a solution.

  • • Use the demo and the panel discussion to highlight your business knowledge in 1:1 customer engagement, industry-specific understanding, and client-specific business conditions.

  • • Bring examples of where you have counseled and coached your clients through a successful deployment. Discuss the challenges that you faced, how you faced them, and the impact that you drove for your clients.

CERTIFICATION PREPARATION

Use case development

As part of phase II of the certification program, you are required to design and develop a use case in the given Pega Customer Decision Hub environment. You are free to develop a use case that is specific to any industry based on your own experience.

If you choose to develop a use case for the financial services or communications industries, utilize the provided data model and sample data for those industries. If you choose a use case from a different industry, you must create your own dummy data. We expect that you dedicate approximately 40 hours to design and develop the use case.

  • • Design and develop a specific use case in the provided Pega Academy instance.

  • • Describe the client situation, the use case, and the business outcomes that your use case will drive. Draw on specific client situations in your use case or focus on an area that you are passionate about. Focus on your industry vertical-specific business understanding in the design and operation of the use case.

  • • Use the use case to establish your thought leadership and knowledge of the latest version of Pega software as outlined in the syllabus. Lead the discussion and explain the logic and the decisions that you made when designing the use case. Outline the challenges that you faced during development and implementation and discuss alternative techniques to overcoming those challenges.

  • • Demonstrate a thorough grasp of the key concepts of NBA Designer, Customer Insights Cache (CIC), and other topics outlined in the syllabus.

  • • Highlight your implementation approach in a client situation by using Pega Express design approach or Agile methodology.

Approximate certification timeline

Candidates are expected to complete the certification 90 days from the time of expressing interest.
