Implementation of Pega GenAI
Pega GenAI™ features optimize and accelerate work in your organization at design time, when you build your applications, and at run time. These features help accelerate application design, optimize operational work, and enhance user decision-making while maintaining strong governance, security, and predictability. Lead System Architects (LSAs) can architect AI-powered solutions that scale across mission‑critical workflows. Enabling Pega GenAI integration in your enterprise applications involves two steps:
- Access to Pega GenAI services
- Connection to the generative AI provider in Pega Cloud
Access to Pega GenAI services
Pega GenAI features are available exclusively in Pega Cloud®. All Pega Cloud clients must have a license and sign the Pega GenAI addendum to enable use. On-premises or client-managed cloud deployments require Pega PremBridge™ to connect to Pega Cloud and use Pega GenAI services.
Pega PremBridge is a Pega application that provides options to configure the Pega GenAI integration in your client-managed deployments of Pega Platform™ to begin using generative AI features. For more information about Pega PremBridge configurations, see Integrating client-managed deployments with Pega GenAI.
The following figure shows the process to enable access to Pega GenAI features:
For more information, see Enabling Pega GenAI in Pega Cloud.
Connection to the generative AI provider in Pega Cloud
To use generative AI features in a Pega application, configure the system to communicate with an approved generative AI provider. Activate Pega GenAI at the appropriate scope in your application in Dev Studio.
The toggles contain the EnableGenerativeAI identifier. Configure the toggle at the level that supports your implementation:
- Enable toggle for all
- Only my Access Group
- Only myself
