Adding a tailored price book to an opportunity
To use the list prices from a specific price book for an opportunity, you need to add that price book to the opportunity. By default, Pega Sales Automation™ uses the Product Catalog as the price book. The Product Catalog is not an actual price book, but a representation that the opportunity uses the standard unit prices from the product configuration. You can replace the Product Catalog with a custom price book to apply customized product prices based on various criteria.
Changing the price book on an opportunity does not affect the existing quotes associated with that opportunity. Only a change to the list price of a product in the price book that is already in use by a quote impacts the quote. If the list price changes, the system sends a notification to the quote owner so that they can review the changes and rework the quote if necessary.
