Implementation of Pega GenAI

Note: Some of these Pega GenAI features are currently in the research and development phase and are not yet available. The name and functionality of PegaGen AI features of Pega Platform might also change without notice.

Beginning with Pega Platform '23, Pega clients can use Pega GenAI through access to OpenAI. As a result, you can use out-of-the-box Pega GenAI Rules provided in Pega Platform or customize the connection to generative AI Rules to fit your development needs.

Access to Pega GenAI

First, you must enable Pega GenAI to access its features. Pega GenAI features are available in Pega Cloud™ and on-premises or client-managed deployments. All Pega Cloud clients require a license and must sign the Pega GenAI addendum to use it on Pega Cloud.

All on-premises or client-managed cloud deployments need Pega PremBridge to use Pega GenAI services. Pega PremBridge is an application. The user Portal of the Pega PremBridge application provides options for your Pega GenAI gateway URL and other required configuration information.

The following figure illustrates how to enable Pega GenAI features in Pega Cloud or client-managed deployments. Start by contacting your Pega account executive. If the deployment is on-premises or in a client-managed cloud, Pega PremBridge is required. For clients on Pega Cloud, Pega Cloud 3 is necessary. Clients on Pega Cloud 2 must upgrade to Pega Cloud 3. Sign the Pega GenAI Addendum. After completing all formalities, the Pega Cloud Ops team deploys the necessary infrastructure to activate Pega GenAI capabilities.
