Use Process Skins to replace the names of key fields with the terminology that your organization prefers.
Process Skin use case
Process Skins can accelerate adoption of Pega Process Mining by making the interface better reflect the vocabulary that your organization currently uses. For example, in Pega Process Mining, a Case ID is a unique identifier that acts as the glue that ties all of the work on a single process together. Therefore, the UI includes the term Case throughout the navigation menu and page headings, as shown in the following figure:
If an organization uses a Ticket ID as the required unique identifier for a single process, then that organization might choose to create a Process Skin to replace the term Case ID with Ticket ID in the UI, as shown in the following figure:

- Case ID
- A unique identifier that denotes a single process instance. Examples
include a trouble ticket ID in an ITSM platform or an opportunity ID in
the CRM.
A Case ID must match across all of the applications involved in the process to be included in the process model. You can think of a Case ID as the glue that holds all of the different parts of a process together.
Case ID is a mandatory input for creating an event log.

- Case Start Timestamp
- The timestamp of the first event that marks the start of the Case.
- Case End Timestamp
- The timestamp of the last event that marks the end of the Case.
- Case Event Count
- The number of events performed in a trace or process.
- Case Duration
- The amount of time that it took for the Case to complete based on the Case Start Timestamp and the Case End Timestamp.
