Quick start in Pega Robot Studio

The start screen of Pega Robot Studio provides a Quick start option to create a new project, add an application, and record your first automation quickly. Recording an automation allows you to work through a process, recording each step and creating an automation to replicate the actions taken. For more about recording, see Intelligent recording of automations.

The start screen of Pega Robot Studio provides a button to launch the Quick start wizard.

Using Quick start to begin a project allows you to:

  • Create a new project
  • Add an application to the new project
  • Name the automation being created
  • Begin the recording process

New project creation

The first screen of the Quick start wizard allows you to customize the name and location of the new project. Pega Robot Studio stores automations in the Documents folder by default, but you can customize the location to your requirements.

Set up application

The Set up application screen provides options for you to add an application to the project. You select whether the application to be automated is a Windows application or a Web browser application, set the name for the application, and the path to the executable for a Windows application or the Browser type and Starting URL for a Web browser application.

Create automation

On the Create automation screen, the Quick start wizard creates an automation for the project. It is a best practice to have the automation name match your organization’s standards and clearly indicate the purpose of the automation.

Recording assistant

When the wizard completes the setup, Pega Robot Studio opens the project and launches the Recording assistant and application. You are now ready to record an automation.
