Run a View to generate a process model, where you can visualize the information about a process using a Process Map, comprehensive process metrics, and context attributes to discover information about a process and identify opportunities for improvement.

A process is an end-to-end workflow that often crosses multiple resources and applications. For example, a workforce management process might include tasks from the initial assignment of a ticket through dispatch and acceptance all the way to a field agent successfully completing service to the home. Pega Process Mining uses a data source (event log) to capture all of the activities and transitions in a process. A View is the visualization of a process that is constructed from a data source.

When you log on to the application, Pega Process Mining displays a Home page called Views. On the Views page, you might see multiple Views based on the same data source. You might also see several Views that are based on different data sources.

Depending on your role and level of access, the list might include Views that you created or Views that others have shared with you. The following figure shows an entry for a Workforce Management View based on a source named WFM:

The Views page shows a single View named WFM View.

Running a View

When you want to work with a process in Pega Process Mining, you must first run a View to generate the attributes, reports, and metrics that you can use to analyze the process.

After logging on to Pega Process Mining or after clicking Home at any point, review the list of Views available to you. Then, click the Run View icon. After you run a View, the resulting landing page is a Process Map, which is the primary starting point for process discovery.

The following demo shows how to run a View:
