Screen management and screen rules

Introduction

The Pega Workforce Intelligence™ portal allows you to manage screens and screen rules by changing the display name, enabling and disabling applications and websites to capture data, assigning opportunity tags, and grouping similar applications together. Once an application is selected, the details for that application are displayed.

Information captured from screens

Pega Workforce Intelligence uses two types of events to collect high-level details about the screen or window of an application:

  • Form-focus events occur in Windows applications. Pega Workforce Intelligence captures the screen title from the window title.

  • Page-focus events occur in web applications. Pega Workforce Intelligence captures the page title, URL, and various aggregated metrics about how the user interacts with the page during the session. The page title and URL are presented as the screen title and URL in Pega Workforce Intelligence.

Screen Rules

Screen rules are used to group like screens together with different screen displays or URLs, or mask certain data in the screen name and display it as a predetermined display name.

You can change display names and set rules for screens on the Screen Administration page. Within the application table, you can see which applications have screen rules.

A colored dot, which appears next to each application, indicates the state of the rules:

  • Red – At least one rule is disabled.
  • Green – All rules are enabled.
  • Grey – No rules are created, or no rules are enabled
