Copying a program
Government agencies often must create large numbers of programs with similar details, eligibility criteria, the same or similar documentation, and so on. Creating a new program every time and providing all the details would be very time consuming. As such, Pega Government Platform™ includes an efficient program copying feature, to quickly define new programs.
Copy program
The Copy program feature enables users to copy an existing program to create a new program with the same details but with a new name and unique identifier.
All the details of the copied program are carried over to the new program, and users can then edit the existing details to modify the new program.
The following figure shows the Copy program button in a Program definition Case:
The program name and unique identifier are specific to each program, and should be modified when copying and creating the new program, as shown in the following figure:
The details of the existing program are copied to the new program and auto-populate all fields. You can then change or edit the existing details and add additional details according to the program policy. When all the required details are added and submitted, the new program Case goes through the approval process. If the Program definition Case is approved, it becomes Active and then people can apply for it, if they are eligible.
