Scenario

Your Lead System Architect has requested that you create the Views for the Assistance Request Case Type. Users will interact with the application using Views, which comprise the interface of each Assignment in the Case Life Cycle. You will create these Views using Pega's Constellation UI. These Views determine how customers and CSRs interface with the GoGoRoad application so it is important to insure the Views capture and display the necessary information.

You have been tasked with configuring Views for Assignments associated with the the Create and Validation Stages. These Views include:

  • Identify issue  - Allows the CSR to select the service type being requested.
  • Enter customer information - Allows the CSR to identify the customer by selecting their Account ID.
  • Identify location - Allows the CSR to enter the vehicle's location including the Street, City, and State.
  • Identify vehicle - Allows the CSR to enter the vehicle's description including the Make, Model, Color, and Model year.
  • Enter payment information - Allows the CSR to enter the customer's payment information including the Card type, Card number, and Expiration date.
  • Validate request - Allows the Manager to approve or reject the Assistance request Case and provide a reason.

You have also been asked to create the Details View. The Details View is a Partial View is a tab on the Full Case Page. It displays Primary fields and other fields that are important to Case resolution. In Pega Platform, Primary fields are the most relevant fields associated with either a data object or the Case Type Data Model. By designating a field as Primary, it is automatically included in certain default Views such as the Details View and the Create View.

As a new System Architect, your Lead System Architect has given you a collection of technical documentation links to help you get started.

The following table provides the credentials you need to complete the challenge:

Detailed Tasks

1 Create Views

Creating Views Journey Map

Read the technical documentation provided to complete the assigned tasks. The technical documentation might have more information than you need.

Acceptance criteria

  • Primary fields were added to the data objects as detailed in the following table:
    Data object Primary fields
    Customer Full name, Enrollment, Coverage level
    Service address Street, City, State
    Vehicle information Make, Model, Color, Model year
    Payment information Card type, Card number, Expiration date
  • In the Assistance Request Case Type Data Model, Primary Fields were updated as follows:
    • Description - deleted
    • Service Type - added
    • Customer ID - added
    • Service address - added
    • Vehicle information - added
  • In the Assistance Request Case Life Cycle, the View for each Assignment in the Create Stage are configured to display the fields as detailed in the following table:

  • In the Assistance Request Case Life Cycle, the View for the Validate request Assignment in the Validation Stage was configured to display a View as detailed:

  • In the Assistance Request Case Type, a new Partial View using the Details (One column) template was configured with the name and fields as detailed:

  • In the Assistance Request Case Type, the Details View displays the following Primary fields:

Directions

  1. In the Pega instance for the challenge, log in as an Application Developer.
    1. In the Username field, enter author@gogoroad.
    2. In the Password field, enter pega123!.
  2. From App Studio's Data tab, designate Primary fields in the Customer, Service address, Vehicle information, and Payment information data objects as detailed in the Acceptance criteria.
  3. From the Assistance Request Case Type Data Model, update the Primary Fields as detailed in the Acceptance criteria.
  4. In the Assistance Request Case Life Cycle, the View for each Assignment in the Create Stage is configured as detailed in the Acceptance criteria. 
  5. In the Assistance Request Case Life Cycle, the View for the Validate request Assignment is configured as  detailed in the Acceptance criteria.
  6. From the Assistance Request Case Type's UX tab, a Partial View called Request review is created as detailed in the Acceptance criteria. 
  7. From the Assistance Request Case Type's UX tab, the Details View display the Primary fields as detailed in the Acceptance criteria. 

Confirm your work

  1. To view the Assistance Request Case Type at runtime, in the header of App Studio, click Save and run.
  2. Confirm the Identify issue View allows the user to select a Service type from a drop-down list.
  3.  Confirm the Enter customer information Views allows the user to select the Customer ID from a drop-down list of customers that match the Data Records in the Customer Data Object.
  4. Confirm the Identify location View allows the user to enter the location information including the Street, City, and State.
  5. Confirm the Vehicle information View allows the user to enter vehicle information including the Make, Model, Color, and Model year.
  6. Confirm the Enter payment information View allows the user to enter the Card type, Card number, and Expiration date.
  7. Confirm Get Approval View from the Validation Stage includes the Request review View.
  8. Confirm the Details View includes the Primary field information entered during the Create Stage.
