Improve work processing in your application by creating top-level case types that visualize business processes. When you visualize a business process, you can conveniently divide the process into phases, and then track and manage work with greater ease.
For example, you can create a top-level case type that represents a hiring process, and then reuse the type every time when you want to process a job application from a new candidate.-
In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case types.
-
In the header of the navigation pane, click Manage.
-
Click New.
-
In the Case type name field, enter a name for the case type.
- Optional:
To reuse assets from another case type, click Advanced, and then select a case type.
-
Click Next.
- Divide work into phases by adding stages to your case type. See Creating a primary stage.
- Create child case types that represent dependencies that you resolve before the top-level case type can reach the resolution. See Creating a child case type.
- Creating a case type
Save time when processing similar business operations by defining case types that are the templates for work in your application. By creating case types, you automate business processes and support the different paths that case workers can follow to resolve a case.
- Defining the case life cycle
Track and resolve your cases in a convenient and facilitated way by defining the case life cycle that represents a business model. You can define the life cycle as smaller modules that match the elements of your business process.
- Creating a Microjourney for customer success
Help your customers reach a successful resolution in their business processes by applying the Pega Express methodology while working on implementation projects through journeys and microjourneys. When you focus on one journey at a time, you not only improve how you address the specific needs of your customers, but also reach results more rapidly.
