Collaboration in Robot Manager

The user experience design in Robot Manager™ facilitates collaboration across your team, which makes the configuration and management of your robots more efficient. With the ability to work with your teammates, you can include and organize all tasks in one location while increasing the efficiency of your robots. Learn about the Robot Manager features that you can use to work with your team and to ensure effective collaboration.

Packages

A robotic project is an automation package that both attended and unattended robots use. A single automation package typically contains related automations that are needed to complete a specific business objective, such as looking up a financial history, updating user contact information, and so on. In the following figure, review the steps and click the + icons to learn more about loading and using a package within a robot in Robot Manager:

Assets

Developers can download assets from Pega Robot Studio that they previously tested and deployed from the asset catalog. An asset is a read-only version of an application that includes any automations that you create for the application. With this functionality, you can reuse these read-only, deployed applications as assets in Pega Robot Manager.

Robot Manager cannot share an asset for reuse without proper review and approval. A COE manager typically, but not always, gives this authorization. By approving an asset in Robot Manager, you allow others in your organization to reuse it. As a result, you publish the asset version in your organization. For more information about how approving assets works, see Roles and responsibilities in PRA.

When you use assets, you can ensure the best development and organization practices and limit the need for new development. For more information, see the Application Assets in Pega Robot Manager topic.

Spaces

Spaces are areas in the application that enable groups of users to collaborate on a specific area of interest. Users can collaborate and exchange information in spaces by posting Pulse messages, uploading attachments, linking documents, or pinning cases, documents, reports, and other spaces.

As a Robot Manager application user, you can use the Spaces feature to collaborate on any matter of professional interest. By restricting the discussion of particular topics to the users of a space, you avoid broadcasting irrelevant messages to all users in your application and create more effective communication.

Spaces foster collaboration and improve productivity by providing a unified tool for sharing and developing ideas to improve your organization. For example, a robotic developer might want to restructure your robots after receiving notice that the company encounters a departmental reorganization. To discuss the best way to keep all robots working correctly and update your team, you can create a space that includes all team members and a business stakeholder. For more information about additional benefits and instructions on creating spaces, see Collaboration with users by using Spaces.
