Scenario
Based on your conversations with GoGoRoad stakeholders and the project development team about the processing of an Assistance Request Case, you expect the Roadside Assistance application to copy the value of the Services total field from the Services child Case to the Service total field in the Assistance Request parent Case.
While testing the configuration of this feature, you notice that the value of the Service total field in Assistance Request Case does not match the value of the Services total field from the Services child Case, as shown in the following screenshot.
You have brought this issue to the attention of your Lead System Architect and have now been tasked with troubleshooting the issue to resolve it.

1 Troubleshoot a Pega Platform application
Read the technical documentation provided to complete the assigned tasks. The technical documentation might have more information than you need.
Acceptance criteria
- Pega Platform's Tracer tool is used to evaluate the behavior of the Run Data Transform automation Step for a Service Case a run time.
- Pega Platform's Clipboard tool is used to evaluate the values that are stored in memory for the Service and Assistance Request Cases at run time.
Directions
- In the Pega instance for the challenge, enter the following credentials:
- In the User name field, enter author@gogoroad.
- In the Password field, enter pega123!.
- In Dev Studio, create an Assistance Request Case and confirm that the value of the Service total field in Assistance Request Case does not match the value of the Services total field from the Services child Case.
- In the footer of Dev Studio, in the Developer tool bar, open the Tracer window. Update the Tracer Setting to only evaluate the GoGoRoad Ruleset.
- Create a new Assistance Request Case. Play the Tracer tool capture the behavior of the GoGoRoad Ruleset only for the Select services View.
- Analyze the rules displayed in the Tracer window for the Select services View at runtime.
- Modify either the Service Case Type or Assistance Request Case Type Rules as necessary to ensure that the value of the Services total field from the Services child Case is transferred properly to value of the Service total field in Assistance Request Case.
Confirm your work
Create a new Assistance Request Case and confirm the value of the Services total field from the Services child Case transfers correctly to the Service total field in the Assistance Request parent Case.
